Bowdoin Defeats Men’s Lacrosse, 15-9

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Endicott men's lacrosse team lost to Bowdoin College, 15-9, on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference matchup at Pickard Field. 

Will Jennings (Danvers, Mass.) collected four points on three goals and one assist to highlight Endicott's offense. Luke Wallahan (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) and Chris Reilly (Westwood, Mass.) also found the back of the net twice, while Tommy Hughes (Coram, N.Y.) and goalie Grant Thompson (South Hamilton, Mass.) buried solo tallies. 

Bowdoin never trailed in today's contest, as Brett Kujala (Maple Ridge, British Columbia) ripped home the game's first two goals and the Polar Bears never looked back. Kujala finished the matchup with four strikes, while Matthew Crowell (Medfield, Mass.), Daniel Buckman (Merion Station, Pa.), Nick Conway (Westwood, Mass.), and Tim Bulens (Norwell, Mass.) also stood out for Bowdoin offensively as the quartet notched two goals each. 

Thompson finished the day with eight saves in goal for Endicott. Meanwhile, his counterpart, Peter Mumford (Plymouth, N.H.) stopped a game-high 11 shots in the win (8-5). 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Hughes went 22-for-29 at the face-off X, and scooped up 15 ground balls. In 14 games played this season, Hughes has won 20 or more faceoffs four times this year, which includes his current streak of three straight.
  • The Gulls went 11-for-12 in clears. 

FOR THE FOES

  • The Polar Bears assisted on seven of their 15 goals.
  • Shawn Daly (Marshfield, Mass.) led all student-athletes with three helpers. 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (7-7, 7-0 CCC) closes out conference play on Tuesday, April on the road against Gordon at 4 PM. Bowdoin (9-5) wraps up its regular season at home on Wednesday, April 26 against league foe Tufts University at 7 PM.
