Three Gulls Claim Face-Off Yearbook Preseason Honors

2017 FACE-OFF YEARBOOK PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA LIST

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's lacrosse senior face-off specialist Tommy Hughes (Coram, N.Y.) has been named an Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Preseason All-American, as selected by Inside Lacrosse's staff and longtime contributors. Hughes' teammates Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.) and Will Jennings (Danvers, Mass.) also earned honorable mention accolades to round out the list of honorees for the Gulls on the list.

TOMMY HUGHES | SENIOR | FACE-OFF | CORAM, N.Y.

In 2016, Hughes ranked No. 3 among all NCAA Division III face-off specialists in ground balls per game (10.22) and No. 12 in face-off winning percentage (.667). Hughes went a combined 293-for-439 at the face-off X last spring, while scooping up 184 ground balls and registering 11 points (8g, 3a).

COLIN BANNON | SENIOR | ATTACK | WESTPORT, CONN.

Bannon compiled 91 points on 37 goals and a team-leading 54 assists in 18 games played in 2016. Bannon finished the year ranked No. 4 in the country in assists per game (3.00) and No. 11 in points per game (5.06).

WILL JENNINGS | SENIOR | ATTACK | DANVERS, MASS.

Jennings set the single-season goals record last spring with 80 tallies, while also finishing second for most points in a single-season with 96 (80 goals, 16 assists). Jennings finished 2016 ranked No. 2 among all NCAA Division III student-athletes in goals per game (4.71), No. 6 points per game (5.65), No. 31 in individual man-up goals (9), and No. 121 in shot percentage (.388).

WHAT'S NEXT

Last spring, Endicott went 9-9 on the season and advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament title game for the fourth straight year. The Gulls open up their 2017 campaign against Stevens on Saturday, February 25 at 1 PM on the road.
