Men’s Lacrosse Lands Four On NEILA All-New England Team

NEILA ALL-NEW ENGLAND DIVISION III LACROSSE TEAM

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's lacrosse program saw four of its student-athletes earn New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England honors on Tuesday evening, as announced by the league office.

Tommy Hughes (Coram, N.Y.) led the group with NEILA All-New England first team accolades, while Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.) received second team honors. Will Jennings (Danvers, Mass.) and Cameron Bell (Falmouth, Maine) rounded out the remainder of the group with honorable mention selections.

NEILA ALL-NEW ENGLAND FIRST TEAM

TOMMY HUGHES | JUNIOR | FACE-OFF SPECIALIST | CORAM, N.Y.

Hughes, who is now a two-time NEILA All-New England honoree, currently ranks No. 3 among all NCAA Division III face-off specialists in ground balls per game (10.22) and No. 13 in face-off winning percentage (.667) this season. Hughes also went 293-for-439 at the face-off X in 2016, while scooping up 184 ground balls and registering 11 points (8g, 3a).

COLIN BANNON | JUNIOR | ATTACK | WESTPORT, CONN.

Meanwhile, Bannon compiled 91 points on 37 goals and a team-leading 54 assists in 18 games played to claim second team accolades for the Gulls. Bannon currently ranks No. 4 in the country in assists per game (3.00) and No. 12 in points per game (5.06).

NEILA ALL-NEW ENGLAND HONORABLE MENTION

WILL JENNINGS | JUNIOR | ATTACK | DANVERS, MASS.

Jennings wrapped up his junior campaign by setting the single-season goals record with 80 tallies, while also finishing second for most points in a single-season with 96 (80 goals, 16 assists). Jennings currently ranks No. 2 in the nation in points per game (4.71), No. 25 in individual man-up goals (9), and No. 125 in shot percentage (.388).

CAMERON BELL | SENIOR | GOALIE | FALMOUTH, MAINE

Bell posted a 9-9 record in 2016 to go along with a 10.71 goals against average, 201 saves, and a 51.8 save percentage in 18 starts for Endicott. Bell, who will continue playing lacrosse with the Boston Cannons (Major League Lacrosse) later this summer, concludes his standout four-year career as the all-time wins leader (52) in program history.

Endicott went 9-9 on the season and advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament title game for the fourth straight year.
