BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish second in the 2016 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason coaches' poll, as selected by the league's nine head coaches. Endicott will enter the 2016 season as the only team in the CCC ranked in all three national polls (No. 17 NIKE/Lacrosse Magazine, No. 19 USILA, and No. 20 Inside Lacrosse).

Western New England University edged out Endicott for the top spot by a single point, 77-76, while Roger Williams was ranked third (63). Salve Regina (45), the University of New England (40), Wentworth (40), Gordon (37), Curry (16), and Nichols (11) rounded out the poll in respective order.

Endicott's 2016 schedule will feature seven teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last season including Tufts University, the two-time defending national champion, and Lynchburg who lost to the Jumbos in the title game.

Six of those seven teams on the schedule that reached the NCAA Tournament a year ago are also ranked inside the top-15 in the Inside Lacrosse Preseason rankings – Tufts (1), Lynchburg (2), Amherst (3), Bates (7), Middlebury (10), and Union (15). Springfield, the only NCAA Tournament team not ranked on the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Rankings, has won its conference championship eight years in a row.

Other notable opponents on the schedule include Stevens, Western New England, and Roger Williams. Stevens has made the NCAA Tournament nine times in its program history, while Western New England and Roger Williams finished second and third, respectively, in last season's CCC standings.
