Bell Named CCC Defensive Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-  Following a 2-0 week for the 11th-ranked Gulls, junior goalie Cameron Bell (Falmouth, Maine) has been named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Week for his effort between the pipes.  The 2-0 stretch consisted of wins over non-conference foe Stevens on the road before taking down CCC foe Roger Williams at home as the junior combined to make 27 saves, and collected 5 ground balls on the week.

In the opening contest of the year, Bell notched 11 saves as the Gulls were able to defeat the Ducks 15-13 to make it two straight victories over Stevens in the last two seasons and improve to 3-4 all-time against the Ducks.  The junior also recorded a shot on goal and a ground ball in the game.

The junior goalie then went out and made 16 saves and picked up four ground balls in the 13-5 conference win over Roger Williams in the Gulls' first home game of 2015.  The win improves Endicott's record against Roger Williams to 19-5 all-time as the Gulls have now won three straight.  Bell was able to lead a defensive effort that surrendered just two goals in the second half against the Hawks as the Gulls shut the visitors out in the third quarter and never allowed more than two goals in any frame.

Endicott remains at home for their next three contests as they welcome Connecticut College to the nest on Wednesday for a 4:00 p.m. start before playing host to #19 Springfield and #6 Lynchburg on the 7th and 10th
