Four Endicott Seniors Named NEILA All-Stars

BEVERLY, MA - Endicott College seniors Kevin Lally (Derry, NH/Pinkerton Academy), Burt Fahy (Needham, MA/Needham), Patrick Gaffney (Worcester, MA/St. John's Shrewsbury) and Ryan Walsh (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth) and were named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association 2006 All-New England Team.

The senior midfielder Lally and the senior defenseman Gaffney were both named to the NEILA First Team. Lally quarterbacked the Endicott offense which ranked fifth in the country in scoring offense (14.37 goals per game).

Lally finished second in the NCAA in points per game, averaging 5.21, and was the NCAA's top assist man, dishing out 77 assists to go along with 22 goals in 19 games.

Lally, who was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year, is the nation's all-time leader in career assists with 371 assists.

Gaffney compiled 54 ground balls this spring and best exemplified his leadership and outstanding ability in the CCC championship, going coast-to-coast versus Gordon to score the title-clinching goal. The goal, Gaffney's first of the year, ended a string of four in a row scored by Gordon College. Gaffney was a CCC first-team All-Conference player.

Fahy and Walsh were honored as NEILA second team members. Fahy pumped in 67 goals for 90 points. He finished sixth in the country in points per game (4.74) and fourth in goals per game (3.53) while Walsh finished 29th in the country in goals against average (8.07) and 10th in save percentage (.639).

Gaffney and Walsh were the ringleaders of a defense that ranked 22nd in the nation in goals allowed per game (7.16).

It has been an impressive run for this group of Gulls. The senior class has captured three straight CCC crowns and compiled a four-year record of 54-22, including a perfect 40-0 record in CCC regular season play.
