Gulls Post 21 Goals in Breaking into Win Column

BEVERLY, MA - After losing two straight contests to nationally ranked Bates College and Wesleyan University, the Endicott College men's lacrosse team broke into the win column with a 21-6 victory over Commonwealth Coast Conference rival Salve Regina University Saturday afternoon.

The Gulls (1-2, 1-0 CCC) posted 20 or more goals for the first time since the team posted 20 in back-to-back wins over NEC (20-6) and Gordon College (20-7). The Seahawks fell to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the CCC despite getting four goals from Robert Hoffman (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/St. Rose). Ryan Comerford (Merrimack, NH/Worcester Academy) added a goal and three helpers in the loss.

Endicott turned a 3-2 first quarter advantage into a 12-4 lead at intermission on nine unanswered second quarter goals. Senior Burt Fahy (Needham, MA/Needham) lead the Endicott charge, scoring six goals and assisting on two others.

Dan Ryan (Billerica, MA/Billerica) notched a hat trick for the Gulls while Eddie O'Reilly (Beverly, MA/Beverly), Josh Gilbert (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury) and Taylor Wuennemann (Southington, CT/Avon Old Farms) each deposited two goals in the win.

Senior goaltender Ryan Walsh (Weymouth, MA/Weymouth) turned aside four shots in working the first half of play.

Endicott will host Tufts University Monday afternoon (1) in a non-conference matchup while the Seahawks visit UMass-Dartmouth Tuesday (3:30 PM).
