Gulls Sail By Salve Regina 17-8

April 24, 2005

Newport, R.I - Endicott College men's lacrosse, the top seed in the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament, eliminated Salve Regina University from the playoffs with a 17-8 victory at Toppa Field. The Gulls finish the regular season unbeaten in conference play (12-3; 8-0 CCC) while the Seahawks managed a 2-6 conference record. The Seahawks would have needed a win over the Gulls to qualify for the CCC tournament. Senior Captain Burt Fahy (Needham, MA) led all scorers with six goals and three assists as the Gulls put the outcome out of question after the first quarter, scoring eight goals in the first 15 minutes. All three of Endicott's goalies secured the victory. Juniors Ryan Walsh (Weymouth, MA), Jeff Pardue (Kennebunk, ME) and Freshman Nate Barry (Chestertown, MD) combined for 12 saves. The Gulls will have a bye on Tuesday in the Commonwealth Cost Conference Tournament and will Host the winner of the Roger Williams University vs. Wentworth Institute of Technology game. The semi-final contest will be played at Endicott College on Thursday April 28th.
