POWER GULLS DOMINATE NOR'EASTERS FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN Lally Sets Up Nine Goals For Endicott
BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Sophomore Kevin Lally (Derry, N.H.) set up a potent Endicott College offense with nine assists as the Power Gulls pounded the University of New England Nor'easters 25-1 in a Commonwealth Coast Conference match played in the rain Wednesday afternoon. Lally now holds the record for assists in a game with nine, beating out Tom Maher who previously held the record with eight.
The Power Gulls (4-4, 3-0 CCC), who won for the fourth consecutive outing, scored seven times in the first period and 10 times in the second to take a commanding 17-1 lead into intermission.
Senior Cory Fox (Weymouth, Mass.) led a balanced offensive attack with four goals, while first-year Andrew McGarty (Newton, Mass.) and junior Sam Chidester (Eliot, Maine) each tallied three times.
Three goalies combined to make four saves for Endicott, which out-shot the Nor'easters 60-6 and held a 51-9 advantage in ground balls.
Sophomore Tyler Tyburski (Lewiston, Maine) scored in the second period for UNE. Senior goalie Paul Tabor (Bristol, R.I.) made 24 saves.
The Gulls (4-4, 3-0) will be looking for their fouth win in the CCC as they host Wentworth on Tuesday March 6th at 4:00pm.
