Gulls Soar Over Roger Williams, 15-2

The Gulls, ranked \#1 in the pre-season Commonwealth Coast Conference poll, pulled away early to defeat \#2 pre-season ranked Roger Williams University at Endicott Stadium. Ross Baker who, scored both of the Hawks goals early in the first quarter of action led Roger Williams. Graduate Student Matt Bagshaw, was super between the pipes for the Gulls, recoding 18 saves while only allowing 2 goals against, from a high powered Hawks offense.

The Gulls dominated on ground balls 42 to the Hawks 27. The Gulls offense had eleven of the 15 goals assisted; the scoring was a true team effort. Leading the way was Paul Lord (Derry, NH) with three goals and three assists, Corey Fox (Weymouth,MA) three goals and two assists, Burt Fahy (Needham,MA) two goals and three assists, Sam Chidester (Eliot,ME) and Jeff Clattenburg (Concord,NH) two goals apiece, Kevin Lally two goals and one assist, Alex Howe (Darien,CT) one goal and one assist, Patrick Gaffney (Worcester,MA) one assist and Ryan Fraine (Billerica,MA) one goal.

The Endicott defense was tenacious; Josh Maciorowski (Guilford,CT), Mike Clifford (Wilbraham,MA), Scott Bartush (Fairfield,CT), Jesse Blackwell (Concord,NH) Brendan Delaney (Franklin,MA) and Rick Hancock (Wading River,NY) led the team while killing eleven of eleven man down penalties. Both Gaffney and Fraine were terrific at the Long pole position.

The win brings the Gulls to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in the CCC. The next contest is against Nichols College on March 27th at 1:00pm in Dudley.
