Men’s Ice Hockey Lands Six On AHCA All-American Scholars List

AHCA ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLARS RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's ice hockey team placed six student-athletes on the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-American Scholars List.

The Gulls are represented on the list by Matt Giroux (Bedford, N.H.), Elijah Harris (Haverhill, Mass.), Timmy Hazelton (Commack, N.Y.), Eric Manoukian (Manalapan, N.J.)Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.), and Kyle Thibodeaux (Glastonbury, Conn.).

Meanwhile, for O'Brien, this is his second honor from the AHCA this season as he was voted an All-American earlier this year. O'Brien is now the first student-athlete in program history to earn AHCA All-American and All-American Scholars honors in the same season.

To be eligible for the AHCA All-American Scholars List, student-athletes must meet the following criteria:

• Must have achieved a 3.75 GPA in the first semester.

• Must have appeared in 40% of the season's total games.

• Waivers were heard for back-up goalies and student-athletes who fell shy of 40% due to injury.

• School must be a paid member of the AHCA for 2019-20.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott went 22-5-0 overall and 16-2-0 en route to capturing the CCC Championship with a 2-0 win over Wentworth. The Gulls also finished the year nationally ranked at No. 7 overall and were set to host an NCAA Tournament First Round game before their season was canceled due to COVID-19.
