O'Brien, Manoukian Sweep CCC Weekly Awards

CCC MEN'S ICE HOCKEY WEEKLY AWARDS RELEASE 

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott men's ice hockey student-athletes Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) and Eric Manoukian (Manalapan N.J.) have earned CCC weekly awards, as the conference office announced earlier today. 

O'Brien received Player of the Week and Goaltender of the Week honors, while Manoukian garnered Rookie of the Week laurels. For O'Brien, the Player of the Week honor is the first of his career, while the Goaltender of the Week award is his seventh. As for Manoukian, the Rookie of the Week honor is the first of his career.

O'Brien was stellar in goal for Endicott as it captured the 2020 CCC Tournament Championship. He posted a 0.98 goals-against average and a .967 save percentage throughout the tournament. He made 28 saves in the semifinals against No. 5 seed Nichols before posting a 31-save shutout against No. 6 seed Wentworth in the Championship contest.

Meanwhile, Manoukian registered a pair of pivotal points to aid Endicott in capturing the 2020 CCC Men's Ice Hockey Tournament Championship. His first point in the tournament came in the Gulls' come-from-behind win over No. 5 seed Nichols in the semifinals. Trailing 2-0, Manoukian potted his team's first goal at the 5:11 mark in the third period, igniting Endicott's comeback effort. Then in the CCC Championship, the first-year blueliner helped set up the championship game-winner with an assist at the 12:40 mark against No. 6 seed Wentworth. In addition to his two points, Manoukian also had a plus-two rating in the tournament.

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (22-5-0) will host Plymouth St. in the first round of the NCAA Division III men's ice hockey tournament on Saturday, March 14 at 4 PM.
