No. 11 UNE Blanks Endicott, 4-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's ice hockey team fell to No. 11 nationally ranked University of New England (UNE), 4-0, on Saturday evening in conference action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

UNE received goals from Chad Merrell (Boca Raton, Fla.), Chris Jones (Seattle, Wash.), Jeff Eppright (Barrington, N.J.), and Brent Hill (Lunenburg, Mass.) in the victory.

Meanwhile, Ben Churchfield (Newcastle, England) made 39 stops to record his sixth career shutout.

His counterpart, Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.), notched 48 saves in the loss (5-2-0).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls suffered their first loss of the season at home (2-1-0).
  • UNE improved to 3-1-0 on the road this year.
  • Endicott and the Nor'easters split this weekend's home-and-home series 1-1-0 (Gulls beat UNE on Friday, 4-2).
  • UNE scored at least one goal in every period (two in the first).
