BEVERLY, Mass. — Former Endicott men's ice hockey student-athletes Josh Bowes (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) and Tommy Besinger (Milton, Mass.) have signed professional contracts with the Mulhouse Scorpions of the French Synerglace Ligue Magnus.
Bowes will join the Scorpions next season after winning the 2019 President's Cup Championship with the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Besinger earned his spot on the club after playing for the SPHL's Evansville Thunderbolts this past season.
Bowes logged 102 games in an Endicott sweater from 2015-19, which featured 56 goals and 61 assists for 117 points. He also registered nine power play goals, 10 shorthanded goals, and four game-winning goals during that span.
Bowes currently ranks second all-time in program history in points, fifth in points per game (1.15), first in goals, third in goals per game (0.55), sixth in game-winning goals and power play tallies, first in shorthanded goals, third in assists, seventh in assists per game (0.60), and fourth in games played.
In 71 career games for the Gulls (2015-19), Besinger scored 33 goals and dished out 71 assists for 104 points. He also registered 14 power play goals and six game-winning goals in his career.
Besinger is only the third student-athlete in program history to reach the 100 career point plateau (Olsson, 134; Bowes, 117). Besinger currently ranks third all-time in points, first in points per game (1.46), fifth in goals, sixth in goals per game (0.46), tied for second in game-winning goals, tied for third in power play goals, second in assists, and first in assists per game (1.00).
2018-19 YEAR IN REVIEW
Endicott went 16-9-2 overall and 9-8-0 in CCC play. The Gulls advanced to the CCC Semifinals before falling to Salve Regina University, 1-0, on the road.

The French Synerglace Ligue Magnus is the top men's division of the French ice hockey pyramid, established in 1906. The league was renamed in 2004 to take the name of its championship trophy, the Magnus Cup. The trophy was in turn named for Frenchman and IIHF founder Louis Magnus.
