No. 10/12 Endicott Blanks Becker, 8-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 10/12 nationally-ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team traveled to Becker for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup and the Gulls came away with an 8-0 shutout.

Endicott netted two goals in the first four minutes of play and never looked back.

In the first period, Carter Horwitz (Tustin, Calif.), Tommy Besinger (Milton, Mass.), and Joseph Slovak (South Yarmouth, Mass.) gave the Gulls a convincing 3-0 lead.

Just 45 seconds into the second frame, Jason Kalinowski (Stamford, Conn.) made that lead 4-0 with his fifth goal of the season.

The Gulls continued to dominate play in the third period and saw a flurry of goals as a result. Daniel Kucerovy (Bethel Park, Pa.) found the back of the net twice, while John Carricato (Ridge, N.Y.) and Luke Rodgers (Clarkston, Mich.) each scored once to secure the 8-0 shutout. 

Elijah Harris (Haverhill, Mass.) earned his first collegiate win and shutout with 18 saves between the pipes.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott improved to 8-0-0 in the all-time series against Becker.
  • The Gulls have outscored the Hawks 59-8.
  • 12 different Gulls recorded at least one assist throughout the game. 
  • R.J. Tolan collected his 200th career win as a head coach.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (14-4-2, 8-4-0 CCC) travels to the University of New England on Friday, February 1 for a 7 PM contest. Becker (2-17-1, 1-10-1 CCC) hosts Western New England at 7 PM on February 1.
