Logan Day, Ross Olson Earn New England Hockey Writers’ Association All-Region Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott men's ice hockey student-athletes Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.) and Ross Olsson (Billerica, Mass.) have both earned New England Hockey Writers' Association Division II/III All-Region accolades, as announced by the organization earlier today.

Day, who now plays for the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League (AHL), registered 38 points on 15 goals and 23 assists in 2017-18. Day also finished the year as the No. 2 point-getter (1.46 points per game) among all NCAA Division III defensemen and tied for No. 15 in the country in points per game among all skaters.

Over the course of his career with the Gulls (56 games, 2016-18), Day compiled 30 goals and dished out 48 assists for a total of 78 points to go along with 11 power play tallies, five short-handed goals, five game-winners, one hat-trick, and 83 blocked shots. Day is the program's No. 2 all-time leading scorer and ranks first in points among all defensemen in program history.

Meanwhile, Olsson posted 38 points this season for the Gulls via 16 goals and 22 assists. Olsson also wrapped up his 2017-18 season tied with Day in the No. 15 spot among all NCAA Division III skaters in points per game. Other national rankings on Olsson's resume this season included: No. 25 goals per game (0.62), No. 24 assists per game (0.85), and No. 14 power play goals per game (0.27 PPG, 7 PPG).

2017-18 YEAR IN REVIEW

As a team, Endicott posted an 18-6-3 overall record and 13-4-1 conference mark. The Gulls advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament semifinal round and ranked as high as No. 2 in both the D3hockey.com and USCHO.com polls.
