BAKERSFIELD CONDORS RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott junior defenseman Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.) has signed an amateur tryout contract (ATO) with the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League (AHL) for the remainder of the 2017-18 season. It was announced by the organization earlier today.

"Logan is a special student-athlete and it means a lot to me, our team, and this program for him to have this opportunity," said Endicott men's ice hockey head coach R.J. Tolan. "I couldn't think of a better person to represent this program and our school. Logan has worked really hard for this opportunity with Bakersfield. He's really done so much for Endicott, including the program and the community here. I'm just really happy for him and his family."

In 56 career games for the Gulls (2016-18), Day compiled 30 goals and dished out 48 assists for a total of 78 points to go along with 11 power play tallies, five short-handed goals, five game-winners, one hat-trick, and 83 blocked shots.

Day also leaves the program as its No. 2 all-time leading scorer, and ranks first in points among all defensemen in program history. Meanwhile, this season, Day is ranked second in points per game (15g, 23a, 38p | 1.46 P/GM) by defensemen in all of NCAA Division III.

"It's student-athletes like Logan that have contributed so much to the great success that the Endicott men's ice hockey program has achieved academically and athletically," said Endicott Assistant Vice President, Director of Athletics Brian Wylie, Ph.D. "Logan has been a phenomenal role model and leader, not just for Endicott, but for all the young players that watch and dream of being as great a player as he is. We all acknowledge how hard he has worked and sacrificed for this opportunity, and wish him great success with Bakersfield."

Day's legacy with the program includes several accolades, highlighted by his CCC Player of the Year honors this season and his AHCA/CCM All-America selection in 2016-17.

MORE ON THE BAKERSFIELD CONDORS

The Bakersfield Condors, who are located in Bakersfield, California and play at Rabobank Arena, are 22-21-8-1 (53 points) this season and have 20-plus games remaining on the 2017-18 schedule. Much like Endicott's third-year program, the Condors are just in their third year as a team in the AHL after moving on from the ECHL.

For context, the tiers in professional hockey start at the top with the National Hockey League (NHL) and move downward from there to the AHL, ECHL, and so on. The Bakersfield Condors are the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers.

The Condors host the Stockton Heat on Friday, March 9 at 7:00 PM (PST).
