No. 11/12 Endicott Routs Curry, 7-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 11/12 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team beat Curry College, 7-1, on Saturday night in a conference matchup at Raymond J. Bourque Arena. 

Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.) led the Gulls with a pair of goals, while Josh Bowes (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada), Daniel Kucerovy (Bethel Park, Pa.), Jason Kalinowski (Stamford, Conn.), Anthony Petrella (Hilton, N.Y.) and Jack Kilty (Medway, Mass.) all potted solo tallies in the win, Endicott's sixth straight since November 2. 

Ross Olsson (Billerica, Mass.) dished out three helpers and Justin Ketola (Esko, Minn.) recorded a career-high 35 saves to move to 3-0-0 on the season. Ketola's shutout bid was dissolved late in the third as Jarret Kup (Rosseau, Ontario) found the back of the net at the 9:03 mark of the period. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 5-1-0 against Curry in the all-time series.
  • The Gulls have won the last five meetings by a combined score of 34-10.
  • Endicott compiled 19 blocked shots.
  • Kalinowski, Day, John Carricato (Ridge, N.Y.), Bump Lisk (Lawrenceville, N.J.), and Michael Heidkamp (Marietta, Ga.) all tied for the game-high in the category with three each.
  • Jack Musil (Hull, England) paced the team in faceoff wins with nine.
  • The Gulls went 3-for-6 on the power play, which marked their most goals with the man-advantage in a game this year. 

FOR THE FOES

  • Kup's marker at 9:03 of the third was his third goal of the season.
  • He was assisted by Brandon Zajicek (Albertville, Minn.) and Tristan Morin (Unionville, Conn.).
  • Frank Cundiff (Oceanside, N.Y.) made 22 saves in the loss (2-4-1), while backup Chris James (Carefree, Ariz.) had eight saves in 19:54 of action off the bench.
  • Viktor Jansson (Stockholm, Sweden) and Lionel Mauron (Lausanne, Switzerland) tied for the game-high in faceoff wins with ten each.

No. 11/12 Endicott (6-1-0, 6-0-0 CCC) travels to Salem State University on Sunday, November 26 for a non-conference game at 2 PM. Curry (3-4-1, 2-3-1 CCC) visits Johnson & Wales University on Thursday, November 30 at 6:55 PM.
