2017-18 Men's Ice Hockey Season Preview

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 6/6 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team is primed to kick off the 2017-18 season with their home opener against Plymouth State on Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 PM in Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

RETURNING CAST (ROSTER): The Gulls return a majority of the roster from last season that won the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship and made a deep run in the NCAA tournament.

2016-17 CCC Coach of the Year R.J. Tolan, welcomes back the top five point scorers from last season in Tommy Besinger (Milton, Mass.), Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.), Cam Bleck (Lake Forest, Ill.), Jason Kalinowski (Stamford, Conn.), and Ross Olsson (Billerica, Mass.). Besinger led the team in assists (31) and points (49), while Bleck had a team-high 20 goals. Connor Costello (Nottingham, N.H.), Carter Horwitz (Tustin, Calif.), and Ryan Dougherty (Sterling Heights, Mich.) are all back to anchor the defensive lines for the Gulls.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR (SCHEDULE): After the season opener on Friday against Plymouth State, Endicott will open up conference play with three home-and-home series versus Wentworth (Nov. 2 and 4), Becker (Nov. 10-11), and Curry (Nov. 17-18).

PRESEASON PLAUDITS (CCC POLL): Endicott was picked to finish first in the CCC preseason coaches' poll that was released earlier in October. The Gulls received a total of 99 points and nine first-place votes to finish ahead of teams such as University of New England (85 points), Salve Regina (78 points), and Nichols (74 points).
