BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott sophomores Tommy Besinger (Milton, Mass.) and Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.) have been named to the CCM Division II-III All-America East Team, as announced by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) yesterday. Day was selected to the CCM All-America second team, while Besinger picked up third team accolades. Both honors are firsts in program history.

Day compiled 40 points on 15 goals and 25 assists in 30 games played for the Gulls in his first season with the program after transferring from Northeastern University. Day currently ranks No. 1 overall among NCAA Division III defensemen in points per game at 1.33, and No. 27 overall among all DIII skaters in points per game. His 40 points in 206-17 ranks first overall among all defensemen in program history, and second among all skaters.

Meanwhile, Besinger earned third team honors behind a 49-point season, which included 18 goals and 31 assists. Besinger currently ranks No. 6 overall in DIII in points per game at 1.63, No. 33 in goals per game (0.60), No. 8 in assists per game (1.03), tied for No. 19 in power play goals (7), and tied for No. 11 in game-winning goals (4). His 49-point season in 2016-17 established a new program record, while his 31 helpers also ranks first in program history for a single-season.

Besinger and Day were key parts in Endicott's historic 2016-17 season that included winning the inaugural Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on March 4, the Gulls' first-ever NCAA Tournament win versus Hobart on March 11 (W, 4-3 | First Round), and the program's first-ever appearance in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament on March 18.
