Men’s Ice Hockey Doubles Up Salem State, 4-2

SALEM, Mass. – The Endicott men's ice hockey team completed its regular season series sweep over Salem State University with a 4-2 victory against the Vikings in non-conference action on Tuesday night.

Trailing 1-0 at the 12:25 mark of the first period, the Gulls rattled off four unanswered goals – including a pair of tallies and the game-winner from Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.) – to move their winning streak to eight straight games, and their record to 8-2-2 overall on the season.

Jason Kalinowski (Stamford, Conn.) tied the game at 15:57 of the first period, while Josh Bowes (Edmonton, Alberta) and Day found the back of the net at 1:37, 7:49, and 13:32 of the second period, respectively, for the eventual win.

Endicott's Kevin Aldridge (Birmingham, Mich.) made 22 saves in the win (7-2-2), and Jason Pucciarelli (Newmarket, Ontario) stopped 33 shots in the loss (3-4-2).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 2-0-0 on the season against Salem State after tonight's win. The Gulls have outscored their opposition 10-2 in that span. 
  • Endicott leads the all-time series versus Salem State, 3-1-0.
  • The Gulls' eight-game winning streak is the longest in program history.

  • Ryan Wilkinson (Burlington, Ontario), and Brandon Platt (Pittsburgh, Pa.) both scored in the loss.

The Gulls (8-2-2) will take on No. 11 nationally ranked Neumann University this Saturday in game one of the Endicott Invitational at 1:30 PM. Salem State (4-6-2) travels to Westfield State University this Saturday for a conference matchup at 5:35 PM.
