ECAC NORTHEAST CHAMPIONSHIP: No. 1 Endicott Faces Off Against No. 3 Salve Regina On Saturday

BEVERLY, Mass.. – The first-seeded Endicott men's ice hockey team is set to take on third-seeded Salve Regina this Saturday in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast Tournament championship game at 3 p.m. at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

THE MATCHUP: Endicott went 1-1-0 against the Seahawks in the 2015-16 regular season. The Gulls earned a 7-5 victory in the first-ever meeting between the two programs on November 12, 2015, before falling to Salve Regina, 4-0, at home on January 30, 2016.

ENDICOTT (16-8-2 | ROSTER | SCHEDULE | STATS): The Gulls enter play this Saturday on a five-game winning streak (Feb. 6 – Mar. 2), which includes their 4-0 ECAC Northeast Tournament semifinal round victory over fourth-seeded Wentworth from earlier this week. During that span, Endicott has outscored its opponents 27-4 and record three shutouts. Four out of the five victories during the five-game winning streak have also come at home. Overall on the season, the Gulls are 7-5-1 at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

SALVE REGINA (16-10-1 | ROSTER | SCHEDULE | STATS): So far during the ECAC Tournament, the Seahawks have not allowed a goal in two games played in matchups against sixth-seeded Johnson & Wales (W, 2-0) and second-seeded Nichols (W, 3-0). Salve Regina, winners of four out of their last five games, ranks first in the ECAC Northeast in scoring with 99 goals this season (3.67 per game), just ahead of second place Endicott (95 total, 3.65 per game). Defensively, the Seahawks are second in the league in goals against average at 2.29.

WHAT'S AT STAKE: The winner of Saturday's matchup will be crowned the ECAC Northeast Tournament champion and also earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
