Men’s Ice Hockey Defeats Western New England, 7-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Western New England University, 7-0, on Wednesday night in an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast matchup inside Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Freshman forward Parker Wood (Rochester Hills, Mich.) opened up the scoring just 1:16 into the contest with a slick a deke move across the crease before roofing a backhander over Kevin Gollmer's (Flourtown, Pa.) blocker for a quick 1-0 advantage.

Classmate Joseph Slovak (South Yarmouth, Mass.) made it 2-0 a little over seven minutes later (8:21) when his shot from the right face-off circle found the net through traffic and eventually trickled in for his fourth goal of the season.

After a scoreless second period, the Gulls took complete control of the contest with a five-goal third period. Thomas Daniels (St. Louis, Mo.) scored just one minute in, while Ryan Dougherty (Sterling Heights, Mich.) netted his first collegiate goal at 4:54 and Ross Olsson (Billerica, Mass.), Bowes, and Tommy Besinger (Milton, Mass.) all followed suit with tallies of their own to round out the scoring.

Endicott freshman netminder Kevin Aldridge (Beverly Hills, Mich.) stopped 34 shots to record his second career shutout and improve to 14-8-2 on the season. Gollmer made 39 saves in the loss (1-4-2).
