Ross Olsson Powers Gulls Past Becker, 6-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott freshman Ross Olsson (Billerica, Mass.) buried one goal and set up three others to lead the Gulls to a 6-1 league victory over Becker College on Wednesday night at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Becker jumped onto the scoreboard just 29-seconds into the contest as junior winger Gerald Owen (Chesapeake, Va.) put home a rebound in front of the crease, but after that it was all Endicott.

Gulls' freshman Joseph Slovak (South Yarmouth, Mass.) evened the score at 4:13 of the period, while classmate Tommy Besinger (Milton, Mass.) gave Endicott a 2-1 advantage with his first career tally at 5:09. Besinger received a drop pass from Olsson at the right face-off circle and followed with a quick deke move across the crease before lifting a shot into the upper left corner of the net past Hawks' goalie Tyler Stepke (Mars, Pa.).

Thomas Daniels (St. Louis, Mo.) closed out the first period with his fourth goal of the season at 14:17, while Cam Bleck (Lake Forest, Ill.), Carter Horwitz (Tustin, Calif.), and Olsson all went on to find the back of the net over the remaining 40 minutes of play. During that stretch, Olsson dished out an assist on Daniels' and Horwitz's (4:30, 3rd period) tallies.

Endicott freshman goaltender Kevin Aldridge (Beverly Hills, Mich.) stopped 39 shots in the win (13-8-2), while Stepke made 21 saves in the loss (6-10-1). Becker backup goaltender Greg Hussey (Medford, Mass.) also recorded 28 saves in a reserve role over the remaining 32:06 of play in the matchup.
