Tom Smith enters his 12th season as head coach of the Endicott men's golf program in 2023-24. In the last five years, the Gulls have won two out of the last five CCC Championships under his reign. In the 2013-14 season, Smith and the Gulls made history by capturing the CCC's first automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament where Austin Teal finished in a tie for ninth place overall in the individual standings. He was later named a Ping All-American Honorable Mention.

Smith, with nine years of coaching experience, hopes that his expansive background in golf instruction and fitness will aid in Endicott's quest for a more prominent standing against powerhouse regional NCAA programs.

Smith came to Endicott while serving as the PGA teaching professional and fitness instructor at Ferncroft Country Club of Middleton. Before 2009, Smith spent two years as a course professional, as the assistant golf pro at Haverhill's Renaissance Golf Club and then as the head pro at Hampden Country Club.

Smith worked for three years as the Director of Golf at the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club, where he oversaw 300 members and managed a staff of 40 employees. While at the semi-private club in Beverly, Smith's responsibilities included maintaining inventory control, overseeing the superintendent's work on the course, and hosting events for organizations such as the Women's Golf Association of Massachusetts (WGAM) and the New England Professional Golf Association (NEPGA).

Smith is a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified golf fitness instructor. He studied at The Golf Academy of the South in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and attended the PGA Professional Golf Management Program from 1999-2004. He is currently studying in the PGA Certified Professional Program, with a focus on General Management.

Smith resides in Haverhill with his wife, Jessica, and his son, Brendan.
