Seniors Lead Endicott to 8th Place Finish at NEIGA DIII Championships

BREWSTER, Mass. - Led by a talented trio of seniors competing in their last NEIGA DIII Championships, the Endicott golf team finished tied for eighth in the 23 team field. The Gulls were able to improve on their standing of tied for 10th after day one of the two day championship.

Leading the way in his final appearance at the regional championship was senior Carter Knox (Hinesburg, Vt.), who finished tied for eighth individually in the 114 golfer field. Knox carded a two-day total of +10, 154 after shooting rounds of 75 and 79. Knox's 75 came on the 6,776 yard, par 72 Starboard Course on day one, before closing with a 79 on the 6,675 yard, par 72 Port Course on day two.

Surging up the leaderboard on day two was fellow senior Christopher Billings (Portland, Maine), who climbed from a 33rd place finish on day one to finish tied for 18th after day two. Billing shot an opening round of 80 before firing a 78 for the 15 spot improvement in the standings. Also climbing from day one to day two was the third senior in the group, Dylan Seeber (New Hartford, N.Y.), who finished tied for 38th after tying for 58th on day one. Seeber carded rounds of 83 and 78 in the tournament to finish with a two-day total of 161.

Connor Brown (Granby, Conn.) and Kenneth Tuttle (Gorham, Maine) rounded out the scoring for the Gulls. Brown finished in a nine-way tie for 59th, while Tuttle finished tied for 90th.

The NEIGA Championships represents the final competition of the fall semester for the squad. The team will now prepare for the spring season which will be highlighted by the CCC Championship at the end of the spring semester. The Gulls were one of four teams that qualified for the championship field that will compete for the automatic bid to the NCAA DIII Championship.
