Endicott Finishes Second at UNE Invitational

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine - Led by Christopher Billings(Portland, Maine) fourth place finish, the Endicott men's golf team finished just three strokes back of the winning score to take second at the UNE Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. It was the second straight event that the Gulls have finished second in, two days afer having finished second at the Husson Invitational as well.

On the 5,859 yard, par 69 Cape Arundel Golf Club course, Billings put together a round of 74 to finish just two strokes back of the low round of the day. The junior shot a +3, 38 on the front nine before closing with a +2, 36. 

Finishing in a tie for fifth place was senior Connor Brown (Granby, Conn.) who finished three strokes off the pace with a 75. Brown opened with a +2, 37 on the front nine and finished off the back with a +4, 38. Finishing tied for eighth were senior Ben Palazzo (Farmington, Conn.) and freshman Tyler Smith (Morgan, Vt.). Both posted rounds of 76 with Palazzo notching splits of +4, 39, and +3, 37, while Smith shot an even 35 on the front before closing with a 41. Hunter Donovan (Loudonville, N.Y.) finished with a score of 83 for the Invitational.

This was the final tune-up before the CCC Fall Qualifier, which will be held on October 5, at the Montaup Contry Club in Portsmouth, R.I.
