2017 ENDICOTT GOLF FALL PREVIEW
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's golf team, which is coming off the program's fifth Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) title in the past seven seasons, will be looking to repeat in 2017-18. Here is a quick preview of their 2017 fall season.
SCHEDULE: Under seventh year head coach Tom Smith, the men will use another challenging schedule to ready themselves for the CCC Fall Qualifier. The Gulls tee off the 2017 season at the Bowdoin Invitational this weekend. The Invitational will be held at the Brunswick Golf Club in Brunswick, Maine. The following weekend, the men will travel to Middlebury, Vt. to compete in the Duke Nelson Invitational at the Ralph Myhre Golf Club.
Endicott will then compete in two separate invitationals within a four day stretch as their final preparation for the Fall Qualifier. First up is the Husson Invitational at the Bangor Municipal Golf Club in Bangor, Maine on September 23 & 24, before the UNE Invitational on the 26th at the Cape Arundel Golf Club.
The final two competitions of the fall see Endicott compete in the CCC Championship Fall Qualifier on October 5 at the Montaup Country Club in Porstmouth, Rhode Island. The top four teams at the qualifier will compete in the CCC Spring Championship, with the top seed hosting the event. Endicott then ends the 2017 fall season with the three day NEIGA Championship, beginning on October 21, at The Captains Club in Brewster, Mass.

RETURNING CAST: After graduating just one senior in 2017, the men have welcomed back 10 members from last year's championship squad. Leading the way are 2016-17 CCC Golfer of the Year Athan Goulos (Peabody, Mass.), and fellow All-CCC recipients Drew Benshoff (Concord, Mass.), Christopher Billings (Portland, Maine), and Ben Palazzo (Farmington, Conn.). Goulos and Palazzo earned All-CCC First Team nods in the spring of 2017, while Benshoff and Billings were named to the Second Team.
YEAR IN REVIEW: The Gulls won their fourth title under head coach Tom Smith, and fifth overall. With the win came an automatic bid to the NCAA DIII National Championship, which Endicott finished 33rd.
