SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Endicott sophomore Jack Carroll (West Hartford, CT) fired a 78, including three birdies, and the Endicott golf team leads after the first day of play at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship at Veteran's Memorial Golf Course.
Endicott stands in first place in the team competition with a 319, a shot ahead of host Western New England. The University of New England is third (333) followed by Nichols (343).
Western New England sophomore Patrick Donahue(Southington, CT) birdied the final hole for a four-over par 76 to take a two-shot lead over Carroll.
WNE sophomore Eric Hedberg (Guilford, CT) and Endicott freshman Brett Malboeuf (Shrewsbury, CT) are tied for third after rounds of 79.

Although temperatures were in the 50’s, it was windy and only four of the 20 players in the field were able to break 80.
The four teams advanced to the championship after last fall's Qualifying Tournament.
The final round begins at 9:30 am Sunday (April 29) with cool and windy weather again in the forecast.
