Arseneault, Ray Show Out On Senior Day Against Suffolk, 90-71

BEVERLY, Mass. –  The Endicott men's basketball team defeated Suffolk, 90-71, on Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Prior to the game, seniors Billy Arseneault (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Cameron Ray (Lowell, Mass.) were honored for their contributions to the men's basketball program and the Endicott College community.

Ray led all scorers in today's matchup with a career-high 27 points (10-14 FG, 7-10 3PT) to go along with three rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

Meanwhile, Arseneault recorded 24 points (10-14 FG, 1-4 3PT, 3-3 FT) alongside five assists, three rebounds, three steals, and one block.

Ahead 43-35 at halftime, Endicott extended its advantage to 64-40 to begin the second stanza via a commanding 21-3 scoring run (19:41-14:28) and never led by less than 15 points the rest of the way.

Ray highlighted the 21-3 offensive outburst with a team-high 10 points.

Overall, the Gulls only trailed for 33-seconds in today's contest (tied for 42-seconds, Endicott led for 38:45). 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Stephen Fama (Lynnfield, Mass.) recorded his first double-double as a Gull behind 11 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, and four assists.
  • Endicott is 3-2 all-time against Suffolk.
  • Ray knocked down a career-high seven three-pointers. 
  • The Gulls scored 20 points off 18 miscues from the Rams.
  • Endicott's largest lead in today's matchup was 24 points (2nd - 14:28).

Endicott (13-10, 10-8 CCC) travels to Suffolk (15-9, 10-8 CCC) on Tuesday, February 22 for a CCC Tournament quarterfinal matchup at a time to be determined later.
