Second Half Surge Sends No. 5 Middlebury Past Endicott, 98-78

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's basketball team fell to No. 5 Middlebury 98-78 on Sunday afternoon at MacDonald Gymnasium.

The Panthers trailed the Gulls 50-44 after the first half but erased that deficit with a 10-3 run to start the second half.

Endicott then fought back to get the Middlebury lead down to four at the 8:33 mark, but the Panthers responded with a 25-9 run over the last 8:33 of the game to put the Gulls away.  

Jack Farrell (Verona, N.J.) led Middlebury with a game-high 31 points which included 17 in the second half.

For the Gulls, Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) led the team with 19 points eight rebounds.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Middlebury now leads the all-time series over Endicott 6-2
  • The Panthers shot 51.2% from the field in the second half which included 46.2% from three.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (3-3) will open Commonwealth Coast Conference play on Wednesday, December 4 as they host the University of New England at 5:30. No. 5 Middlebury (7-0) will host New England College on Friday, December 6 at 5 PM.
