Men's Basketball Downs Bridgewater State, 91-80

BRIDGEWATER, Mass.  —  The Endicott men's basketball team defeated Bridgewater State, 91-80 on Saturday evening at the Tinsley Center. 

Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) led the way for the Gulls with 18 points 13 of which came in the second half. Jalen Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) followed with 15 points on 5-9 shooting, while Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine) scored 13 points. 

Louis Ellis (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Griffin Curtis (Salem, N.H.) provided a spark off the bench for the Gulls scoring 12 points and 10 points respectively. 

The Gulls took a 44-42 lead with 47 seconds left in the first half and never looked back leading all throughout the second half. At one point only leading by four (54-50), Endicott went on a 22-12 run over a ten minute span to give themselves a 76-62 lead.

Bridgewater State then clawed their way back into the game late in the second half, cutting the Endicott lead to five (82-77). The Gulls held strong on defense though only allowing the Bears three points over the final 1:52. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Endicott now leads the all-time series over Bridgewater State, 4-2. 
  • The Gulls bench was a difference maker in the game outscoring the Bears bench, 28-5. 
  • Endicott shot over 50% from the field for the third time this season.

Endicott (3-2) hosts No. 13 Middlebury on Sunday, December 1 at 2 PM. Bridgewater State (0-4) hosts Rhode Island College on Tuesday, November 26 at 7:30 PM.
