Men’s Basketball Runs Away From Wentworth, 86-64

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's basketball team defeated Wentworth, 86-64, on Saturday afternoon in conference action at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Trailing 24-23 with 8:10 remaining in the opening stanza, the Gulls caught fire offensively outscoring Wentworth 28-11 to close out the first half and run away with the contest.

Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) paced Endicott during the run with 11 points, while Louis Ellis (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine) both contributed six points apiece. The Gulls also received three points from Mathew Catizone (Woburn, Mass.) and two via Nick Thibeault (Gorham, Maine).

As a team, Endicott hit six three-pointers during the spurt as Brown, Ellis, and McDevitt all buried two, respectively. Meanwhile, Thibeault capped the run with a two-handed dunk just before time expired in the half.

Brown finished with a game-high 25 points (10-16 FG, 5-9 3PT), while Thibeault and McDevitt both notched 16 points each. Jordan Pettway (Bridgeport, Conn.) also put together an impressive stat line with 11 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and one steal in the win.

  • Endicott is 29-10 against Wentworth in the all-time series.
  • The Gulls have won seven games in a row versus the Leopards.
  • Endicott is 6-3 at home this season.

Endicott (15-6, 8-4 CCC) hosts the University of New England on Tuesday, February 2 at 7:30 PM. Wentworth (6-15, 4-9 CCC) travels to Rivier on Tuesday at 7 PM.
