Men’s Basketball Turns Away Suffolk, 85-62

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Endicott men's basketball team posted an 85-62 victory over Suffolk University in the opening round of the Babson College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Endicott featured five student-athletes in double-figures – including four starters – highlighted by Nick Thibeault's (Gorham, Maine) game-high 14 points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Meanwhile, Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) had 13 points, Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine) notched 12, Joe Shehadi (Dorset, Vt.) compiled 11 and Mathew Catizone (Woburn, Mass.) contributed 12 off the bench.

The Gulls led wire-to-wire in the contest and led by as many as 32 points with 12:19 remaining in the second half. Endicott also never saw its advantage dip below 20 points from the 3:54 mark of the first half (41-19) until the final buzzer sounded.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Today's game was the first-ever matchup between the two programs.
  • The Gulls made 15 three-pointers on the afternoon. It marks the third straight game Endicott has made at least 15 three-pointers in a game.
  • Endicott shot a season-best 65.2-percent from beyond the arc.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (3-0) takes on host Babson College in the championship game of the invitational tomorrow at 3 PM. Suffolk (2-1) plays Maine-Farmington tomorrow in the consolation game at 1 PM.
