Men's Basketball Picked Atop The CCC Preseason Poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – With just over a week remaining before the 2016-17 season gets underway, the Endicott men's basketball team was selected first in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason coaches' poll as announced today by the conference office.

Endicott, the two-time defending CCC Champions, received 99 points (nine first place votes) heading into the 2016-17 season after posting a 19-11 record overall in 2015-16, which included a 12-6 showing in conference games. Endicott celebrated the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory with an 84-76 victory over host Catholic in the First Round before falling to Wooster, 91-83, in overtime a season ago.

Gordon finished second in the poll as the Fighting Scots earned 80 points. Nichols garnered third place with 77 points and the remaining first place vote, while Roger Williams completed the top four with 71 points.

Wentworth ranked No. 5 on the poll with 62 points and Western New England checked in at No. 6 with 53 points. University of New England was positioned seventh overall (47 points), while Eastern Nazarene (26 points), Salve Regina (22  points) and Curry (13 points) rounded out the conference voting.

Endicott tips off the 2016-17 campaign on Saturday, November 19 against Anna Maria in non-conference action at 1:00 p.m. as part of the Babson College Tip-Off Tournament.
