Co-Player of the Year Kamahl Walker Highlights All-CCC Men's Basketball Team

2014-15 All-CCC Men's Basketball Teams

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has recognized three Endicott men's basketball student-athletes on the 2014-15 All-CCC Team including Co-Player of the Year sophomore guard Kamahl Walker (Worcester, Mass.) four-time honoree senior guard John Henault (Lunenburg, Mass.), and sophomore guard Max Motroni (West Warwick, R.I.).

Walker elevated his game in his sophomore season, setting a career-high with 17.0 points per game on 46% shooting from the floor overall and 48% from three-point range, which was tops in the CCC. He also averaged 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.3 blocks in about 27 minutes per game. Walker, who was also placed on the All-CCC First Team, shares CCC Player of the Year honors with Nichols junior guard Irving Eggleston.

A two-time CCC Player of the Week, Walker played his best in big games averaging 18.5 points per game against the top half of the league standings including a 25-point game at home versus top seed Nichols on February 11th and a 29-point effort on the road at Wentworth on February 17th. Walker's season-high of 30 points, which including a program record 14 free throws made, came in a four-point victory over Salve Regina on February 3rd. In non-conference play, Walker poured in a game-high 26 points in a 79-76 loss to NESCAC rival Williams while recording 20-point games in wins over Plymouth State and MCLA.

Walker is the fourth player in program history to be named conference Player of the Year and is the first since 2002-03 honoree Jeremy Currier '04. Walker joins Currier, two-time winner Eric Simonelli '01 (1998-99, 2000-01), and Jon D'Orlando '97 (1995-96) as Endicott players to collect top honors from the conference.

Henault becomes just the third player in program history to earn all-conference honors in four straight seasons as he was placed on the All-CCC Second Team for his performance in the 2014-15 regular season. He was previously named a Second Teamer in both his sophomore and junior seasons after earning a spot on the Honorable Mention team freshman year. Former Gulls Simonelli and Nemanja Marinokvic '07 are the only other four-time all-conference winners in Endicott's history.

Henault continued to climb Endicott's all-scoring list as he averaged 11.7 points per game in his senior season. Henault, a two-time captain, is now just two points shy of passing Marinkovic (1,440 points) for second on the all-time scoring list. He was named CCC Player of the Week for the second time in his career back on February 2nd after averaging 17.0 points per game in wins over University of New England and Gordon.

In 2014-15, Henault scored at a career-best 48% from the field while shooting an efficient 39% (39-of-101) from behind the three-point line. The program's top free throw shooting percentage-wise all-time, Henault knocked down 83% of his attempts at the charity stripe this season. He also averaged 4.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 0.7 steals per game.

Motroni collects his first collegiate postseason accolade in a standout sophomore campaign in 2014-15 with All-CCC Second Team honors. A CCC Player of the Week winner on February 15th after leading the Gulls to a marquee win over Nichols and a 20-point triumph over Curry, Motroni averaged 13.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 0.8 steals in a team-high 30 minutes per game. Motroni exhibited his ability to score from anywhere on the court, attacking the rim and knocking down outside shots at a 46% clip including 39% (45-of-115) from beyond the arc. Motroni also converted 78% of his attempts at the free throw line.

Motroni set several career-highs this season including 23 points in a home win over Nichols thanks to five three-pointers, nine rebounds in a road loss to the Bison, and seven assists against Western New England.

Walker, Henault, and Motroni were integral pieces in what has been a memorable 2014-15 season for the Endicott men's basketball as the Gulls enter the CCC Tournament riding an 11-game win streak and with a 20-5 (16-2 CCC) record. Endicott owns the #2 seed in the tournament and will host #7 Western New England on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in CCC Quarterfinal action.
