Profile: Mike was thrust into
action last year as a freshman point guard, and responded with some
excellent games down the stretch. He excels in transition and did a
nice job of leading the Gulls fast break. An excellent playmaker,
he is also a scoring threat from the perimeter. As a
Freshman: Started 12 games. Averaged 3.8 points and 2.1
assists per game. Individual highlights included 10 points, 5
assists and 4 rebounds against the University of New England on
February 12, and 8 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds against New
England College on February 20. In High School:
Captain for Coach Luke Reilly at East Catholic High School, the #2
ranked Class LL team in the state of Connecticut. Led team to
back-to-back state championship games. As a senior, named All
Northwest Conference and Honorable Mention All State.
Personal: A Communication major. Mike is the son
of John and Valerie Rhodes.
