Gulls Triumphant in Second Game of Back to Back

Feb. 6, 2005

Paxton, MA-- The Endicott Gulls played back to back games for the first time since their opening weekend tip-off tournament. EC took on the Amcats of Anna Maria. The game, originally set for January 22nd, was rescheduled due to the blizzard of 2005. Endicott overwhelmed AMC 94-44.

The Amcats were unable to get any momemtum against a stifling Endicott defense, shooting less than 30% from the field. Endicott was paced by Matt George (Dover, NH) who finished with a game high 21 points and sophomore Nemanja Marinkovic's (Serbia, Belgrade) 13 points and 12 rebounds. The Gulls also received very strong prefomances off the bench from senior Matt Born (Watertown, MA), 10 points and 7 rebounds and senior Carlos Nunez (Lawrence, MA) 9 points.

Anna Maria placed one person in double figures as Billy Hazelwood scored 12 points. The Gulls raced out to a half time lead of 52-21 and never looked back. The combination of pressure defense and solid offensive execution never let the Amcats into the game as Endicott jumped out to a 25-4 lead in the first seven minutes.

The Gulls improve to 14-5 (10-1 CCC) on the year while Anna Maria dropped to 3-17 (1-12 CCC). The Gulls return to action Tuesday, February 8th, at home against Eastern Nazarene College.
