Endicott Bounces Back to Defeat Keene St.

After falling to nationally ranked University of Rochester in Rochester, NY over the weekend, Endicott travelled to Spaulding Gym in Keene, NH and defeated perennial New England powerhouse Keene St. 79-75. Keene St. was 2-0 coming into the game after winning 44 games the last two years.

The Gulls overcame a 38-33 deficit at the half, as they went on a 6-0 run to open the second half. Keene St. then countered with a 14-5 run of the own to lead by 8 with 13:00 minutes to go. From there Endicott(2-1) battled back and finally took the lead with a little over 4:00 minutes to go in the game.

With the game tied at 73 Jeremy Currier hit a jumper in transition with 55 seconds remaining. Endicott then came up with two large defensive stops. James Leveque and Zach Ellis calmly marched to the free throw line and made 4 consecutive free throws to put the game away.

Endicott's bench was instrumental in the win as Zach Ellis connected on 4 of 5 three point baskets and made all of his 4 free throws for 16 points to go along with 4 assists and 2 steals. Nemanja Marinkovic also came off the bench to contribute 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Matt George (12 points) and Jeremy Currier (15 points) were also in double figures for Endicott. Keene St(2-1) was led by Sr. Alphonse Michalski with 20 points and Sr. Chris Timson with 12 points.

The Gulls next game is at home December 4th, at 7:00pm vs. Bates College.
