Field Hockey Shuts Out Roger Williams To Advance To CCC Championship, 4-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team blanked Roger Williams, 4-0, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament semifinals on a rain-filled Thursday night at North Field.

Endicott scored one goal in each quarter to come away with the victory. Addi Williams (Pittsfield, Maine) buried tallies in the first and second quarters, while Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) found the back of the cage in the third and fourth to account for the scoring.

Meanwhile, Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) stopped four shots to bump her record to 17-4 overall on the season and record her eighth shutout of the season (third in a row).

As a team, the Gulls outshot Roger Williams 27-6 and also held a 12-1 advantage in corners.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is now 14-1 in the all-time series against Roger Williams.
  • The Gulls are 8-2 at home this season.
  • In her two-year career at The Nest, Williams has compiled six goals in the CCC Semifinals (four vs. Salve Regina in 2018).
  • McCarthy has scored four goals in the CCC Semifinals in her career with Endicott.

WHAT'S NEXT

First-seeded Endicott (17-4) will host second-seeded UNE in the CCC Championship on Saturday, November 9 at 1 PM. Fourth-seeded Roger Williams saw its 2019 season come to a close at 12-10 overall.
