ENDICOTT ALL-CONFERENCE HISTORY | 2019 CCC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE
BEVERLY, Mass. — Eight members of the Endicott field hockey program have received postseason honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), as announced by the league office earlier today.
Forward Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) and head coach Jodi Cipolla headlined the group of award winners. McCarthy earned Offensive Player of the Year laurels, while Cipolla earned Coach of the Year honors.
Along with those honors, Endicott also saw Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.), Abby Carter (Richmond, Vt.), Emily Graham (Westford, Mass.), Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.), Jaylin Grabau (Lynnfield, Mass.), Blake Braman (Clinton, Conn.), and McCarthy collect All-Conference accolades as well.
CCC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR / ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM
Kristen McCarthy | Sr. | F | Danvers, Mass.
After a historic first season at The Nest where she hauled in the following honors — 2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-American First Team, 2018 Synapse Sports Division III All-American Second Team, 2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III New England East Region First Team, 2018 CCC Offensive Player of the Year, and 2018 All-CCC First Team — McCarthy earned her second CCC Offensive Player of the Year award. She currently leads the team in goals (18), assists (10), and total points (46). In CCC play, McCarthy is second in goals with 11 and second in points with 26. She also second in game-winning goals with three.
ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM
Sydney Poulin | So.| F | Watertown, Mass.
Comming of a season where she was named CCC Rookie of the Year as well as All-CCC First Team, 2018 Synapse Sports Division III Rookie of the Year, 2018 Synapse Sports Division III All-American Third Team, 2018 Synapse Sports Division III All-Rookie Team, and 2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III New England East Region First Team, Poulin set new career highs in points (33), and goals (13), which are both new career-highs. Meanwhile, in CCC play, Poulin ranks third in goals with 10 and fourth in points with 24.
Abby Carter | So. | D | Richmond, Vt.
After a great rookie season being named to the All-CCC Second Team, Carter played and started in every game this season for the Gulls. She was a key member of a league-leading defense that paced the league in both shutouts (5), goals against (8). On the offensive end this season for the Gulls, Carter registered five assists.
Emily Graham | Sr. | D | Westford, Mass.
Graham started in every game during her senior season for Endicott earning her first-ever All-CCC squad honors. She was a critical member of a backline that led the league in goals-against with eight. Graham also lead the team in defensive saves with six, half of which came in conference play which is good for fourth in the CCC.
Taylor Farrin | Jr. | G | Danvers, Mass.
Coming off, 2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III New England East Region First Team, and 2018 All-CCC First Team honors as well as setting new career highs in wins, and shutouts, Farrin played every minute in goal this season for the Blue and Green. Farrin set new career highs in goals against (24) and goals-against average (1.21). In conference play, she led the CCC in shutouts (5), save percentage (.862), goals-against average (.066), and goals against (8). She also was fifth in total saves with 50.
ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM
Jaylin Grabau | Jr. | F | Lynnfield, Mass.
Grabau earned her first-ever All-CCC honor in the 2019 season. The Junior forward played and started every game this season for the Gulls, she was second on the team in assists with eight, was fourth in total points with 22, and ranks fifth in goals with seven. In conference play, Grabau was second in assists with six.
Blake Braman | Jr. | F | Clinton, Conn.
For back to back years, Braman is a member of the All-CCC Second team. The junior midfielder was a regular to the starting lineup for Endicott. She had three goals and three assists totaling nine points this season for the Gulls.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Jodi Cipolla | 13th year
For the third season overall, and the second season in a row Cipolla has led the Gulls to an undefeated record in the CCC. On top of the undefeated conference season, Cipolla led the Gulls to their first-ever national ranking (#20), and to the top of the NCAA Division III New England East Regional Rankings for the first time. She also coached the team to key wins over #14 Babson, MIT, and the University of New England (2x). This is the fourth time Cipolla has been named CCC Coach of The Year.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (16-4, 12-0 CCC) earned the top seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference tournament, as a result, they will host either Roger Williams or WNE in the semifinals on Thursday, November 7.
