Field Hockey Bests Gordon, 4-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team defeated crosstown rival Gordon College, 4-1, on Tuesday evening at North Field.

Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) paced Endicott with two goals, while Julie Champigny (Acton, Mass.) and Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.) also found the back of the cage in the win.

Meanwhile, Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) made three saves to improve to 9-4 overall on the season.

As a team, Endicott outshot Gordon, 37-7, and held an 11-2 advantage in penalty corners.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • McCarthy is now fifth all-time in career points with 105
  • She leads the team in goals with 11 goals this fall.
  • The Gulls are 22-8 all-time against Gordon.
  • Endicott has won the last 10 matches versus the Fighting Scots by a 39-6 margin (five shutouts).

Endicott (9-4, 6-0 CCC) travels to Mount Holyoke on Thursday, October 10 at 7 PM. Gordon (4-8, 1-5 CCC) visits New England College this Thursday at 7 PM.
