Field Hockey Turns Away Nichols, 8-1

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team defeated Nichols College, 8-1, on Tuesday night in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup at Vendetti Field.

After Nichols took the lead just 4:12 into the contest, the Gulls rattled off eight unanswered goals to remain unbeaten in conference play this season (2-0).

Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) tied up the game for Endicott at the 10:20 mark, while Jaylin Grabau (Lynnfield, Mass.) gave the visitors the lead for good 1:01 later in the first quarter.

From there, the Gulls received goals from Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.), Blake Braman (Clinton, Conn.), two more from McCarthy to complete her hat-trick (44:21/48:28), another by Katie Lopez (Moorpark, Calif.) and Grabau (59:35), respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott improved to 22-4 all-time against Nichols tonight.
  • The Gulls have won 11 in a row versus the Bison.
  • During its 11-game winning streak, Endicott has outscored 78-9.
  • The Gulls also moved to 3-2 on the road this season with tonight's victory.

Endicott (5-4, 2-0 CCC) hosts conference foe Roger Williams on Saturday, September 28 as part of Homecoming and Family Weekend at 1 PM. Nichols (3-5, 0-3 CCC) welcomes Gordon College to its campus on Friday, September 27 at 4 PM.
