BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team has been honored with the 2018 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) office. The team also saw 15 members named to the 2018 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad and three student-athletes recognized as Scholars of Distinction. 

The Division III National Academic Team Award is given to those programs that earned a team GPA of 3.00 or higher during the Fall semester of the 2018-19 academic year.  

The Gulls have now earned this distinction for the 12th year in a row and are one of six Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) institutions to be named to the list.

Endicott also saw 15 student-athletes recognized as members of the 2018 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.

Earning honors this season were seniors Cameron Molinare (Simsbury, Conn.) and Maggie O'Reilly (Cheshire, Conn.); juniors Julie Champigny (Acton, Mass.), Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.), and Emily Graham (Westford, Mass.), sophomores Anna Battista (Kingston, Mass.)Jaylin Grabau (Lynnfield, Mass.)Lily Smith (Middlebury, Vt.), Samantha Brown (Byfield, Mass.), and Lauren Whitney (Poway, Calif.) and freshmen Abby Carter (Richmond, Vt.), Sydney Poulin (Watertown, Mass.), Lolly Stapley (San Diego, Calif.), Elizabeth Stark (Beverly Farms, Mass.), and Addi Williams (Pittsfield, Maine).  

Additionally, the Endicott field hockey team saw three student-athletes (Brown, Carter, and Molinare) named to the 2018 ZAG Field/ NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction list. Molinare has earned the Scholar of Distinction honor for the fourth year in a row and is the first Endicott student-athlete to do so. 

The Scholars of Distinction honor is awarded to those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.

Endicott (18-5, 12-0) captured its third CCC championship title in program history during the 2018 season. The Gulls went on to win their first-round NCAA Tournament matchup against Saint Joseph's (Maine) by a score of 3-1 before falling to Messiah, 4-0, in the second round.
