Field Hockey Named NCAA Division III Statistical Champion In Goals Per Game and Scoring Average

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team led Division III in both goals per game (4.57) and scoring average (4.57) according to the final NCAA statistics. The Gulls finished the season tied for first in both categories with Rowan University. 

"I continue to be so proud of the accomplishments of this team. It was great to have so many players involved in our scoring and offensive output throughout the season," said head coach Jodi Cipolla

The Gulls also led all NCAA Divisions in goals per game and scoring average as Division I leader North Carolina finished the season with 4.48 goals per game and a 4.45 scoring average, while Division II leader LIU Post recorded 3.61 goals per game and a 3.58 scoring average. 

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott (18-5, 12-0 CCC) finished the 2018 season in a historic way as the Gulls went undefeated in conference play, captured the CCC Championship title for the first time since 2012, and posted the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory with a 3-1 win over Saint Joseph's of Maine.
