Field Hockey Sweeps CCC Athlete Of The Week Awards

CCC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team saw the trio of Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.), Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.), and Addi Williams (Pittsfield, Maine) sweep the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) athlete of the week awards, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. McCarthy was named Offensive Player of the Week, Farrin earned Defensive Player of the Week, and Williams was tabbed Rookie of the Week. 

McCarthy tallied a total of three goals and one assist for seven points during the week. She started out with two goals and an assist during a 9-4 victory over Nichols on Oct. 24 and then netted the lone goal in a 1-0 win over the University of New England to lock up the No. 1 seed for the Gulls in the upcoming CCC Tournament. McCarthy currently leads the CCC in assists (15) and is second in goals (27) and points (69). Nationally, she is third in points per game (3.63), tied for second in goals per game (1.42), and 10th in assists per game (0.79).

Farrin finished the week with a 2-0 record in net for the Gulls. She recorded one save in 48:34 minutes played during a 9-4 victory over Nichols and then made 11 stops against UNE to earn her seventh shutout of the season.  

Williams continued to give the Gulls offensive firepower as she netted four goals for eight points during a 9-4 win over Nichols. She now has 18 goals and three assists for 39 points on the season which is second on the team in goals and points.

Endicott (15-4, 12-0 CCC) hosts either Roger Williams or Salve Regina on Thursday, Nov. 1 for the CCC Semifinals.
