Endicott Turns Away Gordon, 5-1

WENHAM, Mass. - The Endicott field hockey team traveled to Gordon College for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup on Saturday afternoon and the Gulls posted a 5-1 victory over the Fighting Scots. 

Maggie O'Reilly (Cheshire, Conn.) gave the Gulls an early lead at the 2:14 mark when she tallied the only goal of the first half. 

The Gulls once again got the scoring started in the second half when Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass.) netted her 12th goal of the season. 

At the 51:47 mark, Gordon cut the deficit to 2-1 on a goal from Rosalind Keeley (Winterport, Maine)

Endicott then saw three answered goals, one from Jaylin Grabau (Lynnfield, Mass.) and two from McCarthy to secure the 5-1 win. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Taylor Farrin (Danvers, Mass.) recorded four saves to improve to 10-2 on the season in net for the Gulls. 
  • Katelyn Pelletier (Attleboro, Mass.) made 12 stops during the loss. 
  • Endicott held a 19-9 shot advantage throughout the contest. 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (10-2, 7-0 CCC) travels to Connecticut College on Monday, October 8 for a 6 PM nonconference matchup. Gordon (4-10, 1-6 CCC) hosts Nichols on Wednesday, October 10 at 7 PM.
