Cogliano Named Longstreth/NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week

Longstreth/NFHCA Division III Weekly Award Release

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott field hockey student-athlete Sophia Cogliano (Saugus, Mass.) has been named the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the NFHCA office on Wednesday.

The award is chosen from a pool of candidates that includes any Division III field hockey student-athlete who won a conference player of the week honor. Cogliano is the first student-athlete from Endicott to earn this award in program history.

The junior forward led the Gulls to a 3-0 week with five goals scored. She netted both goals in a 2-0 victory over No. 2 nationally ranked Babson on September 26 and then scored two more goals during a 5-1 victory over Roger Williams on September 28. She finished out the week by tallying the game-winner in double overtime against Western New England on September 30.

HONORABLE MENTION

Freshman goalkeeper Taylor Farrin was named an honorable mention selection for her 3-0 performance in net for the Gulls. She recorded a total of 21 saves throughout the week and had a shutout against No. 2 Babson.
