SPRINGFIELD, MA - Endicott freshman Joanne Reid (Clarksville, MD/River Hill) scored two goals in her collegiate postseason debut to lead the sixth-seeded Gulls to a TCCC playoff win over the No. 3 seed Western New England College on Saturday in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Reid got the Gulls started as she took a feed from Nichole Engel (Freeport, ME/Freeport) and beat WNEC goalkeeper Emile Donka (White River Junction, VT/Harford) at 5:31 of the first half to give Endicott the 1-0 lead.

Following a huge penalty shot save from Endicott goalkeeper Chelsea DeFeo (York, Me/York), Joanne Reid doubled the visitor's advantage in the 54th minute as she buried an unassisted tally to put the Gulls up 2-0. The Western New England offense stepped up its game in the second half, as the Golden Bears peppered the Endicott net looking to get back into the game. At the 67:41 mark Sarah Antosik (South Windsor, CT/South Windsor) scored her first career goal to get WNEC back into the game at 2-1.

That would be as close as Western New England would get as Endicott goalkeeper Chelsea DeFeo made eight saves to earn the win. The Endicott defense also made three defensive stops, including two from Jennifer Beech (Devonshire, Bermuda/Saltas Grammar). The Gulls' victory avenges a 3-2 loss to the Golden Bears back on September 26th.

Western New England held an 18-5 advantage in shots and a 19-2 advantage in penalty corners.

With the win, Endicott advances to The Commonwealth Coast Conference Semifinals where they will take on five-time defending TCCC Champion New England College. Game time is tentatively scheduled for 1:30 PM on Wednesday in Henniker, New Hampshire.
