Cross Town Rivals Edge Out on Top

Sept. 16, 2004

EC battled its way through 70 minutes of tough hockey against CCC rival Gordon College, but fell 2-1 at Gordon. The Gulls are now 3-3 and Gordon continues on its undefeated streak.

Endicott dominated the first half out shooting Gordon 12-7, but the Gulls failed to get on the board early. Gordon's first goal was scored in the second half on a scramble in front of the net. Responding quickly, EC answered back as senior KD Balentine found Jen McCormack open for the tying goal at the top of the circle.

However, Gordon's junior Megan Benevides blasted in the game-winning goal capitalizing on a penalty corner. The Gulls turned up the pressure, but could not turn the game around.

EC will play their second CCC game on Saturday September 18th against Nichols at EC's Tupper Field.
